Yes the title implies not to talk to her. But please feel free to jump in. x) Eliza collins feel too much Elizabeth stared at the tree ahead: the whomping willow. How dangerous could a tree really be? Well, very. She had seen the tree in action several times, but never got close enough to take a hit from it, or be afraid of it for that matter; and she never intended to do so. It wasn't Eliza's desire to get crushed by huge branch, but then again who's was it? She knew some students who had dared each other to get especially close to the whomping willow. Daring, but inevitably stupid.
It was right after dinner, and the sky was darkening. Dusk, her favorite time to think, when the moon was peeking out from the clouds and making an appearance in the sky. The brunette sat down on the grass, crossing her legs, and opening up her book. Studying was the point of Hogwarts, right? To others it was having fun, and learning amazing magic... well, same for Elizabeth, but it was more about the knowledge and she knew that wasn't the most appealing feature she had.
At one moment, she thought she heard someone, and twisted her head around to see if anyone was there. And no one was... good. If someone did stumble along, she'd speak to them of course, but sitting alone by the whomping willow reading books only made her look like more of a nerd, and a loner. She was. Eliza tucked back a lock of her wavy, golden brown hair behind her ear, and began to read. word count: 251 | @anyone | the whomping willow ulla

See I have to believe that there's more than this seems, more than a soul in a boat in a sea of sinking dreams The sun was setting and the moon began to glow more brightly as darkness became the prominent panorama. Dinner had just concluded and the majority of students were heading toward their assigned common room as per the rules. This ensured the safety of the student as none were allowed outside after dark. However, Regan had been in a position of power for the last couple of years as a Prefect and now, in her final year, had been given the responsibility of Head Girl. So she was completely aware that many students attempted to break the rules. In order to prevent any accidents during her time as Head Girl Regan did everything possible to make sure the students at Hogwarts kept in line with the rules set forth for them.
Regan searched for her fellow Head Boy to help her search the grounds for delinquent students but to no avail. Under the luminescent moon Regan found herself alone. Tranquil could only describe her surroundings at the moment and her footsteps began to lag so she could enjoy the quiet some more. Selfishly thinking, she couldn’t help but wish she had a book with her. Perhaps it wouldn’t be too much trouble if she took a moment to read a chapter before heading in. After a hard day’s work who would be cruel enough to deny her such a small treat? Regan shook her head lightly knowing that would be breaking the rules and if she was going to set a good example for the rest of the student body then it wouldn’t be appropriate for her to get away with things of such nature.
Noticing more and more lately her thoughts had become slightly sinister, at least to someone that never stepped out of line. However, here she was thinking she was above the rules. She shook her head, ashamed at herself for having such a thought even though she could not act upon it. Quickening her steps, Regan knew she had to finish her outside round soon and completely the same routine inside. All that was left was to take a look near the Whomping Willow because, of course, she would not be getting that close to such a violent plant.
As Regan was completing her tour she saw an outline of someone sitting down. ”Hello? You know its pass the time to be out here don’t you?” Regan asked knowing that most likely this person was aware of the rules and was choosing not to follow them. However, Regan tried not to judge and by asking the question was giving the student a warning.

Yes the title implies not to talk to her. But please feel free to jump in. x) Eliza collins feel too much The girl had her finger on the pages, running along the words as she attempted to read. Going out to study at night wasn't the best idea, but it was quiet, and the cold air, for some reason, helped her think. Also, the fact that the whomping willow could crush her any second was comforting... yeah, strange. But the plant was living in some way, and that made her feel less alone.
Elizabeth sighed, her body finally relaxing as the air chilled her bones, and the silence of night finally reached her. Quidditch always tired her out, and especially being Captain, she'd have to plan practices and be stern to members. Well, it was still worth it. And Quidditch wasn't the only thing getting her stressed: classes too, and over-studying, and nights with barely any sleep. But then she heard a voice, and froze.
Busted, Eliza was so screwed. She knew people would be checking around for students out after dark, but it had slipped her mind, and her desperate need for space, fresh air, and time to think had caused her to not think properly.
Turning her head to look at the person, she noticed she was around her age, but could have been a year older. The look on her face.... yeah, she wouldn't be getting away with this. Slowly closing her book, Eliza awkwardly smiled. "Yeah... uh, must have slipped my mind. Sorry about that," she explained quickly, feeling a little bad for lying. She knew the rules, but thought she could get away with it. Damn, her perfect record might not stay in tact like her parents wanted. word count: 272 | @regan | the whomping willow ulla

See I have to believe that there's more than this seems, more than a soul in a boat in a sea of sinking dreams Power tripping was often an adjective to describe the Prefects and Head girl and boy because they were in a position of power compared to the rest of the student body. Some were motivated by that fact so they could abuse it. Regan was the opposite, she didn't particularly love telling others what to do or docking points from those who broke them, she wore the badge with honor because it was an experience that could take her further in life. It showed that Regan was responsible, trustworthy, and a leader. It was to better her future, not just this moment in time.
Regan walked closer to the person who was out after dark and noticed the gender was female. It took a moment for her to focus in on who she might have to dish out a punishment for. After a moment, Regan made the person out to be a Slytherin sixth year named Elizabeth Collins. There were a large amount of students within Hogwarts which most had a hard time keeping track of. However, Regan spent extra time going over the roster with pictures to make sure she would be able to identify any student at a moment’s notice.
Elizabeth Collins was not the stereotypical Slytherin, she was actually fairly opposite. She took pride in her school work and was a part of a small group of student who did not run into trouble at all. This was the first time Regan ever came across this girl doing something wrong. Perhaps that only meant that Elizabeth was good at not getting caught but Regan had a feeling that wasn’t really the case. Elizabeth smiled at Regan, although it seemed a bit off, and apologized for her mistake. In that moment Regan needed to decide on how to best handle this situation. Should this action merit any punishment or shall Regan let her go with a warning?
Walking closer so that she was standing next to the girl, Regan noticed she had a book in hand. Obviously she wasn’t doing anything dangerous. She was putting herself in harm’s way rather than causing it. ”It’s fine. I suppose I can let you off with a warning. It’s not like you’ve run across my path in your last five years here, Elizabeth.” Regan said giving the girl a small smile. She often wondered if people were curious on how Regan seemed to know details about them such as their name and year. It would be a lot of information to keep up with.
Seeing as this was her last stop before Regan needed to head in she figured there wasn’t much need for them to rush back inside. Curious, Regan decided to ask what Elizabeth was doing. “What are you reading, if you don’t mind me asking?”

Eliza collins feel too much Elizabeth thought she knew who this was, but wasn't completely sure. The witch was good at remembering things in books, not people's names or faces unfortunately. But, she could still identify this girl. Regan Krum. Seventh year and head girl of Ravenclaw house, someone who she respected quite a lot, actually. Although Eliza secretly admired the dangerous, and daring, it was of her nature to have a liking towards those who were like her. And well, she always liked the Ravenclaw's for their smarts.
Hearing that she would let her off with a warning, the girl smiled. Real smile this time. "No... this is my first time doing this. Seems I'm not too good at it," she laughed, a little embarrassed of how easily and quickly she got caught. Unfortunately her mother and father would skin her alive if she got into too much trouble, so she decided to lay low.
Looking down at her book, Eliza raised it slightly to show Regan it's cover, and title. "Confronting the Faceless," she read it, again a little embarrassed that she was caught reading a simple textbook and not some dramatic novel, and the page on the Cruciatus Curse was as exciting as the textbook got. word count: 205 | @regan | the whomping willow ulla

See I have to believe that there's more than this seems, more than a soul in a boat in a sea of sinking dreams The night was so peaceful and quiet, Regan understood the allure it had to those who wanted to escape for a bit. Those who came out here to be reckless and ruin this beauty. So in that aspect Regan had respect for Elizabeth for not destroying the calmness. Elizabeth joked about not being good at breaking the rules. Regan chuckled with her too. "I don't think I would be either. Perhaps it’s just not in our nature." Regan stated. Although she sometimes had thoughts there did not match her personality Regan wasn't sure if she could ever be persuaded to go down the wrong path.
The book was called Confronting the Faceless, the title sounded familiar. Most likely Regan had read it in the past. “I think I’ve read that before. It’s sort of hard to keep track with all the books I’ve consumed.” Regan stifled a yawn. “It has been a long day and it still isn’t over yet.” She mused more to herself than to Elizabeth. “Are you studying for anything in particular or just a fun read?” She asked wanting to understand the girl a little better. Regan thought Elizabeth seemed sort of friendly and maybe the two had more in common than Regan would have originally thought.

Eliza collins feel too much Elizabeth sometimes wondered why she wasn't sorted into Ravenclaw. She loved Slytherin to death, but her love of books, and need for knowledge made her feel like she was put in the wrong house. Perhaps it was her cold attitude, and sharp tongue that got her put where she was now, but she didn't mind at all. She wasn't usually this friendly; more often than not just nodding, or saying few words, but she liked Regan.
And she was right, they both didn't have the 'trouble maker' feel about them, though Eliza sometimes wished she did, but would never admit it. She was glad the other witch wasn't rushing her to get back inside, and in truth, she didn't really like being closed in. Hogwarts was beautiful, and she adored it, but she felt freer outside, and it helped her think. "It is peaceful. One of the reasons I came out here... those who aren't sleeping in the common room are quite loud. Not good for reading."
Eliza looked down at her book again. "Well... it's not really something I'm reading for entertainment," she admitted, and it was true, she rarely read things for enjoyment, but more so to feed her knowledge. "I'm taking Defense Against the Dark Arts so I suppose reading it is studying, but I just pulled it out. Most of the books in the library, I've read. Some even twice," she laughed.

See I have to believe that there's more than this seems, more than a soul in a boat in a sea of sinking dreams Clouds in the sky had finally made their way to the mood, covering the only light source the two girls had. The complete darkness made Regan slightly nervous. It wasn't that she was afraid of the dark per-say, it was more to do with the fact that she couldn't see her surroundings. The unknown scared her. Regan had always thought that was one of the major traits that landed her in Ravenclaw; the need to be informed.
Elizabeth made a comment about needing to have some peace and quiet due to the fact that her house was not about such things. “I wouldn’t imagine it would be, no offense to the Slytherin house, but it isn’t exactly known for quiet time.” Regan said, a nervous laugh following her words. She wasn’t sure how Elizabeth would feel about her words. Some people took house pride very seriously and even the slightest insult would send them into a whirlwind.
“I wasn’t sure, it might have been a topic you liked a lot and enjoy. Living in Ravenclaw you find that a lot of them have strange reading topics that interest them. Some like cooking, animals, specific charms. None of them are that abnormal on the surface until they get in deep about the details. I even know someone who likes to research about different doorknobs.” People really did have strange interests especially when they enjoy reading so they are exposed to a wider variety of topics.

Eliza collins feel too much Elizabeth noticed Regan seemed a little nervous out here in the cold, darkness. Maybe she was afraid of the dark? Well, Eliza sure wasn't, in fact she loved it. It held mystery and had a certain evil feel about it which was always interesting... okay, maybe she knew why she was placed in Slytherin.
Hearing Regan's comment about her fellow Slytherin's, she laughed surprisingly. "You're right. It's a little bit hard for a bookworm being in Slytherin, unfortunately," she said, though she didn't sound like she disliked being in Slytherin at all. The only thing she didn't like was their occasional sour personalities, and their bad reputation. She didn't know why everyone thought Slytherin's were so mean. Sure, tsome of them were a little stuck up, and rude, but how would anyone really know how they were if they never dug a little deeper.
"Doorknobs!?" Eliza burst out laughing, which was something she rarely did. "That's... strange. But I get what you mean. I mostly just read things for knowledge, but it feeds my interest just the same as any old fiction book. I know, I sound like such a smart-ass. But studying is something I care about a lot... which is another reason I stand out in Slytherin," she said, and laughed. In truth, she didn't mind standing out, but she also didn't want to be the center of attention.

See I have to believe that there's more than this seems, more than a soul in a boat in a sea of sinking dreams A slight breeze sent a goosebumps down Regan’s arm and back. Finding the chill out of place considering tonight it wasn’t really that cold. Elizabeth’s voice captured her focus as she talked about Slytherin house. Regan noted the girl did not seem completely displeased with the fact that she wasn’t able to read in her common room. She didn’t hate being sorted into Slytherin, so there was a part of her that belonged. Unlike most people that assumed a person had to have some sort of evil in them to be sorted into Slytherin, Regan understood there were plenty of admirable traits that required someone to be placed in such a house.
Suddenly the night was filled with Elizabeth’s laughter and soon followed Regan’s. It was rather ridiculous. Doorknobs. She couldn’t help but agree with what Elizabeth said. Regan had a tendency to read for knowledge, as did most Ravenclaws however, she did enjoy some topics more than others. Regan also had a guilty pleasure for fictional novels, even those from the muggle world. ”Its good you care. There are plenty of people in this school that throw this all too waste and honestly most of them will still make out pretty decent in the world. But we will just make out better than them.” Regan chuckled. Her stating they would be better than them was not meant to be a malicious statement, more of just a solid fact. How could they not when they knew how to research and find the answer to problems and understand subjects more thoroughly than most?

Eliza collins feel too much Elizabeth nodded slightly. She agreed, her hard work would pay off, and she was making her parents happy, right? Maybe they weren't the most loving, but the fact that they wanted her to study and do good in school could be a sign that they care? Well... she really didn't know. Her family was always a stiff one, that aimed high in life, and never low. "You're right. But I sometimes wonder what it would be like not to care about my studies," she laughed a little. "No, I can't really imagine it. Maybe I'm just meant to care more about this stuff than others." Eliza shrugged.
Regan seemed a little fidgety in the dark, and she wondered if being out here at night bothered her. It didn't really bother Eliza. That was the only brave thing about her - she usually didn't worry too much in possibly dangerous situations and just went with her gut. Then again... she never got into many 'dangerous situations'. "Are you afraid of the dark?" The witch asked suddenly. Maybe the fact that she wasn't afraid of unknown things got her sorted into Slytherin and not Ravenclaw.
If she was sorted into Ravenclaw, however, she wouldn't mind. What house she was to be sorted into never bothered her. Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, Slytherin, even Gryffindor! It didn't matter, because, well, the Sorting hat new best, right? But her parents were absolutely meant to be put in Slytherin, and the fact that the hat called out Slytherin the very second it touched her head, meant she was too. word count: 261 | @regan | the whomping willow ulla

See I have to believe that there's more than this seems, more than a soul in a boat in a sea of sinking dreams Taking a moment, Regan thought about Elizabeth’s words. She too had wondered what it might be like if she wasn’t so focused on her studies. It was hard for Regan to picture sometimes but she thought maybe she would be more like her sisters. Not that she was an outcast, her family truly did love her, there just felt like there was a misconnection on occasions. Especially when it came to Quidditch. Growing up with a famous professional player made the sport a big part of their lives however, Regan just didn’t enjoy it as much as the others did. Perhaps being a more logical person spoiled that fun loving side in her. ”I couldn’t imagine it for myself either.” Regan agreed.
Regan looked over at Elizabeth when she asked if she was afraid of the dark. ”That obvious?” She asked. It wasn’t that she was afraid per say just a little uncomfortable. ”I’m not afraid, just a little leery. Not knowing what is beyond my limited sight bothers me.” She admitted. If Regan thought about it this might be one of the latest times she stayed outside at Hogwarts. At home it was a different story, she felt comfortable and protected there. It wasn’t that Hogwarts was unsafe but given its history during the second wizarding war Regan couldn’t help but think of what could be dangerously lurking around the grounds at night.
