Business was slow for the blonde this week. Clients were busy with other tasks and Vic avoided the "please find my lost pet" jobs that her clients' children would try to get her to do. Despite the pay, her reputation was on the line by working with children.
Victoire took a seat at a stool in The Three Broomsticks. She didn't notice a bartender anywhere and turn around in the stool to scan the room. Students were there and so were adults around the same age as her and even older. She was tapped on the shoulder by the bartender and ordered herself a glass of firewhiskey.
After obtaining her drink, she settled back to facing the bar. She brought out a notebook with loose paper inside and opened it up. In the notebook, names of her clients with each job that she was given was written out. It was dangerous for her to keep the notebook out in public eye, but everyone around her was busy with their own antics. Victoire sipped her drink and continued with writing down her latest jobs. It wasn't until she noticed someone taking a seat next to her that she immediately closed her book and grabbed her glass, eyeing the stranger curiously.

The weather was good and the castle, as usually was dark, dank, and somewhat depressing, so it was with little reluctance that Christ decided to get out for a bit. He needed a drink and the mead he kept in his personal quarters was not going to cut it this time. He did not consider himself a heavy drinker, but he liked to indulge every now again, especially on days like today.
He had gotten a letter from his father, things were not going well at home. His mother, the healer, was in failing health and his father had said it would not surprise him in the least if she was lost before Christmas. Chris did not know what to do with this, he was close to his mother and could not imagine a life without her. He resigned to himself to go and visit her as much as he could in the coming months.
With that thought in mind, he quickly walked into town and found himself at the Three Brooksticks. He quickly scanned the room, looking for a place to sit. The inn was crowded, but not overly so. There were plenty of seating options available, but it soon became apparent that there was only one that he wanted. The beautiful blonde sitting at the bar had an empty seat next to her, and despite his almost paralyzing fear of speaking to beautiful women...he was painfully shy at times, he knew that he wanted to sit next to her. She looked like she was occupied with some kind of notebook, so she may not even notice him, but what the hell, nothing ventured and all that.
Gathering up what he thought was enough courage to shame a Gryffindor, he walked to the empty seat and sat down.
Here goes nothing, he thought to himself....and then, nothing. He tried to speak, but when she looked at him, nothing came out. This was NOT starting well.

Victoire put her glass of firewhiskey down on the bar and raised a brow at the silent man now sitting next to her. Is he going to speak? She took his opportunity to collect her notebook and quill and stuff it back into her satchel, locking it shut and adjusting it back on her shoulder. As long as the man didn't notice what the contents of her notebook had, Vic would pretend everything was alright. Unless he was a client, she wasn't thrilled that a stranger knew of her career.
As her attention was no longer to her notebook, she finished her glass of firewhiskey and called out to the bartender for another one. Vic could easily ignore the man gawking at her or she could have her own fun. Once her second drink came, Vic chose the latter and put on a fake smile, turned to the man, and locked her eyes with his. "Hello there. May I offer you a drink?" Her voice was low for only he could hear her.
It had been a while since she toyed with a man and this one seemed very nervous. She had to give him the benefit of the doubt though. Vic made herself seem intimidating to make sure her clients didn't try to rip her off. Money was money and Vic wanted what she deserved, sometimes squeezing out more depending on the job.

This was a strange feeling and Chris did not know what to do with it. He had been with women before of course, but this one...she seemed to be different. In what way, he didn't know and that thought scared him a little bit. He noticed her closing a notebook that she had been writing in in such a way as to avoid having anyone see what was written inside, not that he cared, but she didn't know that.
It was the way she carried herself, the way that she exuded confidence and...sexiness that seemed to rob him of his ability to speak. Then, she actually turned to him and spoke, asking if she could give him a drink. The fact that she spoke to him much less offered him a drink gave him the confidence he needed to finally speak.
"Firewhisky", he managed to croak.
He would have to do a lot better if he wanted to have any kind of chance with this woman, even though he knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that she was far out of his league. Though, he did consider himself persisant, so what was the harm in trying? Chris was not your typical macho wizard, his ego could withstand another rejection from a beautiful woman.
He waited for his drink to be delivered and took a chance to look at her right in the eye. "I'm Chris. Chris Able. Nice to meet you"
God that sounded pathetic. This was going to be very, very painful for him, one way or another.
