[attr="class","bhstext"]It was Christmas break and Ava had arrived home yesterday, Olivia couldn't have been more thrilled to have her daughter home. She enjoyed not having to deal with so much teenage angst when Ava was at school but at the same time the loneliness of it all was quite sad. Olivia would spend most of her time working, her job was important and people looked to her and her fellow council members run everything. It was exhausting, so it was not uncommon for her to come home and change into Pajama's just to sit in front of the fire place with a good book and a glass of wine, okay maybe two or three glasses. Ever since her and her ex husband had divorced she had been quite lonely, well even with him she felt lonely as he was never around and when he was he was quite a awful man. Though she really never spoke of this to Ava, all she had told her was that their relationship did not work out and that Olivia did not find out she was pregnant until after they had divorced. Which was all true just hiding the details.

Olivia did not work today but being the work aholic she was she had spent a few hours at work in the morning, mostly trying to avoid telling Ava they would be having guests over for dinner. It really was rediculous as she was the adult and what she said goes, but at the same time she did not want to have a argument with her daughter first thing when she got home for break. It was just a dinner right? Okay so it was more than that. Mathew was a friend from work, but not just any friend some one she really liked. It was not like her to bring men home at all, but he was different. And of course Krys would be coming as well, talking with Mathew she had heard a lot about her and was excited to meet her. Olivia had been piling one thing after another on poor Ava and so she had hoped that tonight would go well and that Ava would take a liking to Mathew.

Olivia looked in the mirror wondering if she had slightly overdone herself. A short lace dress with a plummeting neck line, black heels, her hair down with loose curls. Though it was not a date, she still felt the need to get dressed up and look nice. It had been so long since she was able to get dressed up for reasons that were unrelated to work. If you would have seen her earlier she had been running around trying to clean the house, of course she had house elfs but she wasn't afraid to do some of the work herself. She didn't treat them like they were some sort of slaves. With her big house she just couldn't keep everything together by herself and needed the extra help. The house was big and open, lots of windows everywhere. In fact it felt way to big for just the two of them. She walked down the stairs hoping her daughter would be oblivious to what tonight was really about. Ava where are you? she asked. Do I look okay? she asked when she had found Ava. Okay so at the moment she was sort of feeling like she was a teenager again, worried about how she looked and all.

They will be here soon, will you please put on something nice she asked. Olivia had been raised in a household where was appearance was everything. That was something she taught her daughter as well, except maybe it was not everything but it was still important. You never know who you will meet and first impression are important. Luckily Olivia did not have to prepare dinner, or else she would have probably scared them away with her cooking alone. She could do the basics but she was never great at it. So when Mathew had mentioned he liked to cook she took it as a opportunity to playfully challenge his abilities and invite him over.
