[attr="class","bhstext"]Rose twirled her wand in her hand. The Patronus Charm. One of the more difficult pieces of magic and Rose wanted to excel in it. All it took was one hell of a happy memory. But as Rose thought over each event in her life, there wasn’t one that stuck out from the others. Yes, she didn’t have a fabulous life. She grew up in a family that adored her and welcomed her. There were many birthday parties, many family outings and she even went as far as her acceptance into Hogwarts. But none of it seemed over the top happy to produce a charm. Rose bit her lip and sighed. She turned to the next page.

Maybe it didn’t need to be some ridiculously big happy memory. Maybe just one that brought her a smile and comfort, one that she could always call on. Her mind went to her father. There was this one time, when she was quite small. Hugo was still too young to do anything Ronald thought was fun. SO on his days off, he’d whisk Rose away and place her on a broom stick. For the longest time, Rose could never call the broom up. Ronald would laugh and say her mother had the same trouble. But Rose could remember her father’s face when she did call it up. It was a lit up expression. Maybe it was a sign that he could teach Rose a thing or two when he spent majority of the time worrying about raising a daughter.

Rose pulled out a sheet of paper and began her essay. She listed the history, the incantation, the movement and then finally the choice of memory she would use. Sure, she may not be able to produce a strong patronus now or think up a blissful memory, but she did have a start. Rose stopped her wand from spinning around her fingers and began writing feverishly, not wanting to lose her momentum on her last homework assignment of the day. A soft smile was displayed on her lips while her hand moved left to right.
