CHRISTOPHER JAMES ABLE
32 | TRANSFIGURATION PROFESSOR/HEAD OF RAVENCLAW/DEPUTY HEADMASTER | ADULT | HETEROSEXUAL | CHARLIE HUNNAM
HISTORY
Christopher is the oldest child of Dalton, an auror, and Christy, a healer at St. Mungos, Able. He was quite the surprise as both his parents thought that Christy was unable to have children. So, when he did arrive, the party thrown lasted for days! He was raised in a loving, nurturing home, and while he was certainly not spoiled, his parents made sure he had everything he and his two younger sisters needed. His family was well thought off, but not considered elite due to their dislike of what his father called "pureblood snobbiness". Both of his parents are pure, but do not think any less of anyone that is not, a trait that they have passed on to their children.
Growing up, Chris was a happy go lucky child, and went out of his way to make friends and be liked. However, this made him naive and easy to push around, so he was very often the target of bullies. His desire to always keep his nose in a book did not help, though it did make him an ideal Ravenclaw. He always had a sense that he needed to do the rig ht thing, even though when it was difficult. His courage, however, was late coming as for the first few years in Hogwarts, he remained a target of the bullies. Until one day, he had just about enough of being pushed around, and finally fought back when a group decided to torment him and a friend for weeks on end. Using all the hexes and jinxes he had learned in this three years, he sent a very clear message that he was not to be picked on anymore.
Upon graduation, Chris knew that he wanted to do something to not only help people, but that would test his mind as well, so he decided to follow in his mother's footsteps and become a healer. Though, after a few years, he found the work less than fulfilling, so when the position of transfiguration professor at Hogwarts opened, he jumped at the chance.
ROLEPLAY SAMPLE
Sitting at the bar of The Three Broomsticks, Chris took a small sip of his ale and exhaled a deep breath. This had been one of the good days. The term had just started, and normally by this point, he would have had a foot long list of trouble students to deal with. Gryffindor may be the house of the brave, but in his experience, that braveness often lead to recklessness, which rarely led to good things for the Head of House. However, this year promised to be different. He thought that he had a pretty good group of kids, and looked forward to meeting, and working with each and every one.
He was along tonight, but that was normal. He was close to his family, but his parents lived in London and both of his sisters lived elsewhere. Plus, they had their own lives and he could not expect them to ensure that he wasn't lonely. He hated it, but he was used to it. As an auror, he had pushed away the idea of becoming close enough to a woman to start something serious with. The dangers of the job and all, but now that he was in a more secure position, he thought it would be quite nice to finally settle down. He wasn't getting any younger, that was for certain.
These were the thoughts going through his head as he downed the rest of his ale. No reason to get depressed now, he had papers to grade and lessons to plan. No better time than the present to get started. He placed a galleon on the bar and made his way out. Yeah, it was a good day.
